TVGuard is a parental-control tool. This iPhone app pairs with the TVGuard app on your Android TV over your home Wi-Fi network and lets you lock or block apps, set bedtime windows and daily limits, and control the TV. This policy explains what data the iPhone app handles and why.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or files. There is no user account and no cloud backend.
To understand which features are used and where setup gets stuck — so we can improve the app — TVGuard uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It collects anonymous, aggregate product-usage events (for example, which screens are opened, or where pairing fails) and an app-instance identifier assigned by Firebase. This data is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you across other apps or websites.
Analytics never includes your parent PIN, the apps you manage, your TV's app list, or anything about what your family watched. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Send anonymous usage stats. This data is processed by Google as described in Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
This iPhone app shows no ads. It contains no advertising SDK, does not request or use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking. No App Tracking Transparency prompt appears.
The optional TVGuard Pro subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Your entitlement (whether Pro is active) is cached locally on your device; we do not run a server to validate it.
We do not sell your data. Your parental-control data is shared only with your own TV, over your local network, to deliver the controls you set. The anonymous product-usage analytics described above are processed by Google (Google Analytics for Firebase) on our behalf. Subscription billing is handled by Apple. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
TVGuard is intended for use by parents and guardians to manage a family television. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The controls you set are stored locally and on your own TV.
Communication between your phone and TV is authenticated with an HMAC signature and encrypted (AES-GCM) on your local network. Settings persist on your device until you change them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the locally stored pairing and settings from your phone.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
